Fruit fly traps · OEM & private label

Fruit fly traps jar, fruit-shaped, sticky and combo traps under your brand

Fruit fly traps are one of the most searched pest products in the US — small, kitchen-friendly units bought by households, bars, cafés and grocery produce teams, then re-bought as refills. TrapForge manufactures the trap hardware — bodies, lids, sticky inserts and packaging — and configures liquid lures to comply with your market’s regulations, or fills your own formulation.

  • Jar, apple / lemon-shaped, cup and combo trap bodies
  • Sticky fruit fly cards and houseplant stakes
  • Refill packs: lure sachets, bottles, sticky inserts
  • Lures configured per market regulations — no catch claims

Fruit fly trap formats

  • Fruit-shaped bait traps — PP or PET bodies molded as an apple, lemon or other fruit, with a perforated lid and a reservoir for a liquid lure. Decorative enough to sit on a counter.
  • Jar and cup traps — clear or tinted jars with a funnel or perforated lid; low cost and easy to refill.
  • Sticky fruit fly cards — small yellow glue cards that stand, hang or sit on a plant stake; also used against fungus gnats in houseplants (see yellow sticky traps).
  • Combo traps — a bait cup with a sticky lid or insert, sold with refills as a recurring SKU.
  • Light-assisted units — small plug-in or USB units with a light and sticky card, sitting between fruit fly traps and indoor insect lights.

Lures and refills

Bait traps use a liquid or gel attractant (often fermented or fruit-based). We configure the lure to comply with the buyer’s market regulations, fill the buyer’s own formulation, or ship the trap empty. Refills — lure sachets or bottles, replacement sticky inserts — are where repeat revenue comes from, so we recommend designing the refill SKU alongside the trap. We do not publish catch rates or lure-life claims; buyers who need data trial pre-production samples. More on attractants in the lure & attractant guide.

Materials and construction

Bodies are PP or PET (food-contact-grade resin can be specified where the buyer requires it), lids are PP with molded perforations or funnels, and sticky inserts are coated paperboard or PP sheet with non-drying, unscented or lightly scented glue. Colors, shapes and lid patterns are customizable on standard tooling; new shapes need a custom mold. See glue board guide and housing materials guide.

Channels

Grocery and home retail (2- and 4-packs, gift-like boxes), e-commerce (compact, leak-safe cartons with FBA labels), food service and bars (bulk packs and refills) and garden centers (sticky stakes). Fruit fly traps pair naturally with general fly traps and fly paper in a kitchen fly-control line.

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply the fruit fly lure?

Lures can be configured to comply with your market’s regulations, filled with your own formulation, or left out so you supply them.

Fruit fly trap vs fly trap — what is the difference?

Fruit fly traps are small countertop bait or sticky traps for tiny flies; general fly traps (ribbons, bags, window traps) target house flies and larger flying insects.

Can you make a custom fruit shape?

Yes — custom molds are quoted per project; standard shapes in your colors start lower.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on size, printing and packaging (stock formats in neutral packaging start lower than custom-printed or custom-molded items); lead time depends on printing, tooling and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also packaging & MOQ guide.

Are your traps EPA registered, certified or tested for catch rates?

We supply trap hardware — trap bodies, glue boards, sticky cards and station housings. We do not claim EPA or state pesticide registration, certifications, efficacy or catch/kill rates. Where a lure, attractant or bait is part of the finished product, it can be configured to comply with the buyer’s market regulations; registration and labeling obligations for any pesticidal component stay with the brand owner. Test reports can be discussed on request where available — ask on the inquiry form.
