Rat zapper-style traps battery high-voltage tunnel units for your brand

Buyers searching “rat zapper” want one specific product: a battery-powered tunnel the rat walks into, with high-voltage plates at the back and a light that shows when the trap has fired. TrapForge manufactures this zapper-style unit under your brand — housing, chamber, electronics and packaging. For the wider electronic category (plug-in, connected, monitors) see electronic rat traps.

  • Enclosed tunnel with high-voltage rear plates

How a zapper-style unit is built

The unit is an enclosed tunnel (ABS or PP) with an open front and high-voltage contact plates near the back, where the bait sits. A circuit board fed by batteries drives the plates when the rodent bridges them, and a status LED shows the trap has fired. A lid safety switch cuts power when the unit is opened, and many designs let the user tip the chamber to empty it without touching the catch. Optional: low-battery indicator, removable bait tray, radio alert module.

Specification and options

We fix per SKU: chamber size (rat or mouse), battery type and count, output and interlocks to the buyer’s electrical specification, indicator behavior, housing color and texture, and whether a remote-alert module is fitted (see connected options on electronic rat traps). We do not claim any electrical listing by default; test reports can be discussed on request where available. Batteries are packed according to the shipping rules for your route.

A note on the name

“Rat Zapper” is also used as a product name by an existing brand. We use “rat zapper” only to describe the generic zapper-style trap format; we do not make or sell that brand’s products and claim no affiliation or compatibility.

Selling a zapper-style unit

The zapper is a premium retail and e-commerce SKU: clear pictogram instructions, a giftable box and spare-battery or second-unit bundles work well. It sits above mechanical rat traps and mouse traps in a good–better–best ladder. See OEM & private label.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the branded “Rat Zapper”?

“Rat Zapper” is also used as a product name by an existing brand. We use “rat zapper” only to describe the generic zapper-style trap format; we do not make or sell that brand’s products and claim no affiliation or compatibility.

How is a rat zapper different from other electronic rat traps?

It is one specific format — a battery high-voltage tunnel. Plug-in, rechargeable and connected traps are covered on electronic rat traps.

Can it be made in a mouse size?

Yes — chamber size and plates can be configured for mice; see also mouse traps.

Are your electronic units UL, ETL or CE listed?

We do not claim any electrical listing or certification by default. Electronic units are built to the electrical standard, plug type and battery configuration the buyer specifies, and test reports can be discussed on request where available.

Do you make claims about humane, instant or guaranteed results?

No. We describe trap mechanisms, materials and sizes only. Any humane, welfare, kill-speed or performance statement on your packaging is your decision under your market’s rules, and some markets regulate trap types — we print the label text your team approves.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on size, printing and packaging (stock formats in neutral packaging start lower than custom-printed or custom-molded items); lead time depends on printing, tooling and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also packaging & MOQ guide.
