Rat traps heavy-duty snap, cage and electronic traps for brands and PCOs
Rats need bigger, stronger traps than mice — heavier springs, larger pedals and housings that stand up to outdoor use. TrapForge manufactures snap rat traps, live cage traps, electronic rat traps and traps sized for rat bait station housings, in your colors and packaging.
- Rat-size plastic and wooden snap traps with heavy springs
- Galvanized wire cage traps for live catch
- Electronic and station-mounted options
- PCO bulk packs and retail packaging
Rat trap types
- Plastic snap rat traps — large PP/ABS jaws, heavy-gauge steel spring, wide pedal and a removable bait cup; the volume SKU for retail and PCOs.
- Wooden snap rat traps — the classic large wood-base trap with steel bail; low cost, sold in multipacks.
- Live cage rat traps — one- or two-door galvanized wire mesh cages with a trigger plate and door lock (the same platform as our squirrel traps).
- Electronic rat traps — battery or plug-in chamber traps, including the zapper-style tunnel unit described on rat zapper.
- Station-mounted traps — snap traps that clip into rat bait station housings for non-toxic exterior programs.
Construction for rats
Rat traps use a heavier spring wire gauge and larger jaws than mouse traps, a wide pedal and often a mounting hole or tether point so the trap can be fixed in place. Exposed steel is zinc-plated, galvanized or powder-coated; plastic bodies are PP or ABS, UV-stabilized for outdoor use. Cage traps are galvanized wire mesh with a solid floor plate and handle guard. Every value — gauge, size, finish — is fixed per SKU on the quotation.
Who buys rat traps
Pest control operators and PCO distributors (bulk snap traps and station inserts), farm and feed stores, hardware and home-center retail, and private label brands building a complete rodent line with station housings and glue boards. See OEM & private label and wholesale.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a rat trap and a mouse trap?
Rat traps are larger, with heavier springs, wider pedals and often tether points; the formats are otherwise similar. See mouse traps.
Can your snap traps fit inside bait stations?
Yes — station-mounted snap traps and clips can be matched to your rat bait station housing.
Do you make claims about humane, instant or guaranteed results?
No. We describe trap mechanisms, materials and sizes only. Any humane, welfare, kill-speed or performance statement on your packaging is your decision under your market’s rules, and some markets regulate trap types — we print the label text your team approves.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on size, printing and packaging (stock formats in neutral packaging start lower than custom-printed or custom-molded items); lead time depends on printing, tooling and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also packaging & MOQ guide.
Are your traps EPA registered, certified or tested for catch rates?
We supply trap hardware — trap bodies, glue boards, sticky cards and station housings. We do not claim EPA or state pesticide registration, certifications, efficacy or catch/kill rates. Where a lure, attractant or bait is part of the finished product, it can be configured to comply with the buyer’s market regulations; registration and labeling obligations for any pesticidal component stay with the brand owner. Test reports can be discussed on request where available — ask on the inquiry form.
