Gopher traps claw, box and loop traps for lawn & garden brands

Gopher traps are set inside the tunnel system, so they have to be tough, corrosion-resistant and simple to set in the field. TrapForge manufactures claw (pincher), box and loop-style gopher traps in spring steel with galvanized or coated finishes, packed for lawn & garden retail, farm supply and professional landscapers.

Gopher trap types

Wire claw (pincher) traps are the traditional design: two spring-steel jaws with a pan trigger, set in pairs facing opposite directions in the main tunnel. Box traps are rectangular metal or plastic boxes set at the tunnel opening, convenient for users who prefer a contained trap. Loop / choker tunnel traps use a spring-loaded loop set in the tunnel and are popular with professionals. Each format can be supplied with a chain and stake, marker flag or setting tool.

Materials and corrosion resistance

Underground traps sit in moist soil, so we specify spring steel for jaws and springs with galvanized, zinc-plated or powder-coated finishes, and stainless options for premium lines. Box trap bodies are steel or UV-stabilized plastic. Wire gauge, spring strength and trigger sensitivity are fixed per SKU on the quotation.

Kits and packaging

Lawn & garden buyers often sell gopher traps as 2-packs on a header card or in a box, or as a kit with a probe, trowel, flags and gloves. Professional landscapers buy bulk. Gopher traps share a shelf with mole traps, so many buyers develop both under one brand — see OEM & private label.

Frequently asked questions

Which gopher trap type sells best?

Claw traps are the traditional best-seller in lawn & garden; box and loop traps appeal to users wanting easier setting. Many brands carry two formats.

Are the traps rust-resistant?

We specify galvanized, zinc-plated, powder-coated or stainless finishes for underground use. We do not publish lifetime claims.

Do you make claims about humane or instant kills?

No. We describe trap mechanisms and materials only. Any humane, welfare or kill-speed statement on your packaging is your decision under your market’s rules, and some markets regulate trap types — we adapt labeling to the text your team approves.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on size, printing and packaging (stock formats in neutral packaging start lower than custom-printed or custom-molded items); lead time depends on printing, tooling and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also packaging & MOQ guide.

Are your traps EPA registered, certified or tested for catch rates?

We supply trap hardware — trap bodies, glue boards, sticky cards and station housings. We do not claim EPA or state pesticide registration, certifications, efficacy or catch/kill rates. Where a lure, attractant or bait is part of the finished product, it can be configured to comply with the buyer’s market regulations; registration and labeling obligations for any pesticidal component stay with the brand owner. Test reports can be discussed on request where available — ask on the inquiry form.
